Excellent. I love giving my horse whole foods instead of processed feed and synthetic vitamins. He seems to love the taste and people keep saying how good he looks for his age.
Excellent. My three horses on the Optimum Equine Senior are all looking good. We are well into January and their coats look awesome. My 4-year old that is on Optimum Equine is doing really well also. What I am really happy about is that she seems calmer throughout the day. I don't need to worry about riding after feeding and getting some unwanted behavior.
I started giving Optimum EQ Senior to my 27 year old mare about a year ago. She is thriving on it!
In January 2017, I added this to my 36-year-old Arabian gelding's whole food program to save time and add variety. He is on a time-consuming soaked timothy pellet/chopped hay diet and I want him to get everything he needs. He loves it. The aroma is great! I also fed him Thermal EQ this past winter, which he eats with relish as well. He is also getting BioFlora EQ and BioYeast EQ, to help with respiratory support, digestion (barometric/weather change gassiness) and itchy skin, which is probably due to the extreme dry Arizona climate. I give him Flax/Chia Seed/Flax/Hemp oil as needed. During the winter of 2016 he had 2 bouts of some kind of cold virus, but as of this review in March 2017 he has not had any colds in spite of a rainy/snowy winter. I got this horse as a yearling-he is my best buddy and it's great to see him enjoying his life and his food. To others with senior horses or in cold climates: see if your horse likes a couple of gallons of filtered (Horse Hydrator works great) HEATED water to drink once or twice a day. To really pamper him or if he is gassy or nervous from a storm, sometimes I give him chamomile tea! We think he likes tea because his grandsire Serafix came from England!
I love the fact the vitamin/mineral supplement is from Whole Foods so I don't really worry about over or under dosing.
