"Three years ago, I bought an Oldenburg dressage horse called Diamond. He was my dream horse, until he began having explosive diarrhea that affected his performance. After extensive veterinary exams, it turned out he had colonic ulcers--an exacerbation of the hind gut that doesn’t allow him to process his food correctly. I worked with the vet using sucralfate and misoprostal, which did help the diarrhea, but it would return as soon as the course of medicine was over. We suffered this malady for 2 1/2 years until I called Tigger at BioStar who had helped me in the past. We tried several things like different diets, including chaffhaye, which only make things worse, and all kinds of hay pellets. Finally we tried cold pressed hemp seed oil and Optimum GI for the gut.
